Vasco man quarantined in GMC for suspected Coronavirus infection

Panaji: A 27-year-old man from Goa was admitted to isolation ward of state-run Goa Medical College and Hospital near here.

State Health Minister Vishwajit Rane said that the native of Vasco town was working on a ship, and had returned two days back.

The patient had come in contact with Coronavirus patient during mid-February while he was working on a ship, he said.

The suspect has cough and fever since last two days since he returned to Goa, Rane said.

The man had left on ship in June, 2019 and had travelled to Finland, Italy in February 2020, he said.

The minister said that the patient had not touched the shore as he continued working only on the ship. He had returned to Goa by Quatar Airways flight.

Rane said that the patient has been admitted in isolation ward of GMCH.
