Margao: At least twenty-eight (28) tourists from Kerala were treated at a South Goa-based government hospital after complaining of food poisoning.

Dr Rajendra Borkar, Medical Superintendent of South Goa District Hospital in Margao, told reporters on Wednesday that the tourists were treated at the hospital on Tuesday night after they complained of food poisoning.

He said that out of the 28 tourists, three were advised to be admitted to the hospital, but they took discharge against medical advice (DAMA) and left.

Dr Borkar said that all the tourists were part of the same group that was holidaying in Goa.

He said that they had eaten food at a restaurant in Old Goa, after which they started complaining of food poisoning.

Dr Borkar said that the condition of all the patients was stable when they left the hospital.
