State public service commissions explore introducing Artificial Intelligence for its examination processes

The standing committee of state public service commissions discussed the introduction of artificial intelligence in its examination processes at its two day conference held at Gangtok, Sikkim . Hon’ble Governor of Sikkim Shri Lakshman Prasad Acharya inaugurated the conference and appreciated the efforts put in by the state public service commissions in ensuring that competent individuals are recruited to government service . The Hon’ble Governor also complimented the functioning of the Sikkim public service commission and lauded the efforts put in by its officials in carrying out the objectives of the commission . In his address Shri Jose Manuel Noronha , chairman goa public service commission and chairman standing committee said that the commission were seriously considering introducing artificial intelligence in its examination processes and had invited a professor from Indian institute of technology, Kanpur for the conference to introduce the various aspects of AI that were to be understood by the chairpersons in order that it formed part of the functioning of public service commissions. He stated that it was important to ensure that there was absolute transparency in the examinations conducted by the state PSC’s and therefore it was essential that the idea of AI was introduced to the commissions so that this important facet of recruitment could be handled through AI. Present for the inaugural program were chairpersons of Assam , Nagaland , Uttar Pradesh , Himachal Pradesh, Haryana , Andhra Pradesh, Sikkim besides Goa . Shri S B Subba , Chairman Sikkim PSC welcomed the dignitaries and outlined the achievements of Sikkim PSC while secretary Sikkim PSC delivered the vote of thanks .
