Panaji: We have discussed our grievances with the chief minister and he has assured us provide proper solution for the revival of the industrial sector, informed Goa Chamber of Commerce and Industries (GCCI) president Manoj Caculo.
Speaking to the media on Thursday Caculo said that GCCI along with Goa State Industries Association (GSIA), CII, and Verna Industrial Association held a meeting with chief minister to strategize the revival of the industrial sector. Informing that the CM has assured to provide the appropriate help, Caculo said he is hopeful that a positive outcome is achieved as the industries had suffered very badly during the lockdown.
“IDC related issues like infrastructure etc, parameters of ease of doing business, relief on trade taxes, rebate on excise on bar licence were some of the key points discussed in the meeting,” Caculo informed.
“The country has been experiencing poor condition in the industrial sector, and so did Goa. Currently the market is slightly showing upward trend. Health is a major sector but other sectors also needs to be focused on like industries, tourism etc.,” Caculo added.
Responding on the recent ongoing blame game between the GSIA and IDC, GCCI former chief Nitin Cuncolienkr said, “We were asked about IDC’s functioning but people reacted to the facts. We had raised concerns with the chief minister and he had also held a meeting. The chief minister informed that ease of doing business should be the top priority.”
