Panaji: Imagine Panaji Smart City Development Limited (IPSCDL) today stated that it is committed towards a green Panaji under the Smart City Mission and Panaji will see a greater and methodically planned green cover taking shape in a phase wise manner.
In a press note released here, the officials have said that
following the approvals from relevant authorities, the project commenced.
The two existing trees had to be removed as they were coming in the carriage way and were affecting the ongoing sewerage and road works.
A new re-greening plan is in place and is being adhered to throughout the Development process.
In the stretch from Madhuban Complex to Sheetal Hotel, St Inez, where work is nearing completion, we have designated close to 30 canopy trees for planting. These trees will be strategically planted on both sides, at adequate intervals . This initiative reflects our dedication to enhancing Panaji’s aesthetics and increasing green cover. We anticipate positive transformations in the city through this green initiative.
On the completed Menezes Braganza road and Dr. P. Shirgaonkar Road in Central Panaji , the entire stretch which was breft of trees has been re-greened with – canopy trees which have now taken root showing the commitment towards the re-greening effort .
