Sernabhatim gang rape case solved, three MP tourists arrested

Margao: This will certainly go as one of the best and quickest investigations by Goa Police. The team led by SP (South) Arvind Gawas has cracked Sernabhatim gangrape case arresting all the three accused, who have the past criminal records.

The incident was reported on Thursday night at Sernabhatim beach, when the couple was returning back home in the evening. The three accused demanded money from the boy at the point of knife and then stripped both of them before all of three raping the girl.

The entire act was filmed on camera by the accused and had threatened that they would make the clip viral if they file a police complaint.

SP (South) Arvind Gawas said that the accused were trying to escape from the State. “All the three accused are from Indore in Madhya Pradesh and has been booked in the past by police back in their state in various offences including theft,”  he said.

The first accused Sanjiv Dhananjay Pal (23) was arrested at Karmali Railway Station near Panaji late night when he was trying to board the train, Gawas said. The second arrest was executed immediately when accused Ram Santosh Bhariya (19) was arrested at Kadamba Bus stand in Margao.

After the initial two arrests, the third accused was arrested this morning from Margao Railway Station, who has been identified as Vishwas Makrana (23). Gawas said that he was also trying to escape from the state.
