Fatorda: Goa police on Friday arrested Russel D’Souza, who had spearheaded State government’s carnival float parade 2023 as King Momo for firing three rounds at a person in Margao town on Thursday mid-night.

Fatorda police arrested D’Souza after he fired at Laloo Khan, a local chicken stall owner at Old Market in Margao town of South Goa, last night over money dispute.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (Margao) Santosh Desai said that the accused has booked under section 307 (attempt to murder) and relevant sections of Arm’s Act. He said that the complainant was unhurt.
Desai confirmed that the accused was the King Momo of state sponsored carnival parades across the state this year.
As per the complaint filed with Fatorda police station, the accused arrived near the shop last night and fired three rounds of bullets at him over some money dispute.
Police immediately detained the accused, who was later placed under arrest.
