Panaji:The Directorate of Transport has informed about the number of accidents that occurred and number of Challans issued for the month of March 2020 which is as follows.
As per the report there were total 196 road accidents of which 95 North Goa and 101 South Goa occurred from which 25 were Fatal Accidents (North Goa – 15 and South Goa – 10), 05 Grievous Accidents (North Goa – 01 and South Goa – 04), 26 Minor Accidents (North Goa – 11 and South Goa – 15) and 140 Non – Injury Accidents (North Goa – 68 and South Goa –72).
The total number of persons who lost their lives in road accidents were 28 (North Goa – 15 and South Goa – 13). 15 riders, 01 P/rider, 5 Pedestrian, 03 Passangers and 02 Others lost their lives in these accidents.
08 people were Grievously Injured (North – 02 and South – 06) while 40 persons suffered Minor Injuries (North – 14, South – 26).
A total 1378 Challans were issued by Transport authorities in the month of March 2020.
