Panaji: Old Goa police today booked a Junior Engineer of Public works department and two others including a prominent citizen for endangering human life by illegally cutting the road and causing the accident.
Vibhav Pai, a Junior Engineer attached to PWD, Employee of water supply department Ashok (full name not revealed) and another prominent citizen Dr Rivonkar have been booked under section 283 (obstruction in public place) 336 (endangering life or public safety) 337 (causing hurt) 341 (wrongful restraint) of Indian Penal Code.
Investigation Officer LPSI Pragati Malik after initial investigations have filed FIR against all the three accused.
As per the complaint filed by social activist Inacio Domnick Pereira, on June 06 when he was travelling with his wife Andrea from his home to Bambolim and when they reached near Soltitude building, they met with self accident due to dangerously cut road sustaining injuries to the lady.
Pereira has said that there were no safety measures or any caution sign board installed near the site.
The complainant has said “I lodge my complaint regarding sub standard work of cutting government road without permission or tender, thereby causing danger, obstruction, wrongfully restraining the public from using the road an injury in public way and causing hurt by act of endangering life or personal safety of people, against Dr Rivonkar, along with JE Vibhav Pai and Ashok.
