He also said that Congress will form the government but refused to specify the time frame in which they will come up with the required number. .

“Manohar Parrikar-led government in the course of dying a natural death. The government was formed by those who sold the ideology and sentiments of their voters for their personal greediness for power and money,” said A Chellakumar, Goa desk in-charge of Congress.

“We will form the next government in Goa by taking into consideration the ideology of the party and also interest of the Goan population,” said Chellakumar, who is currently camping in Goa.

“Within this framework of ideology and interest of the people, we will form the government.  I cannot reveal the time frame when the government will be in place,” he said.

Chellakumar also rubbished the apprehensions the Congress legislators are not united as two of them – Jeniffer Monserratte and Philip Neri Rodrigues – are travelling abroad even as the party has staked claim to form the government.

“Two of them are out station but they have gone with the knowledge of the congress party. When there will be need, when we are forming the government at the interest of the people of Goa, I don’t think any of our congress MLA will abstain or leave the Congress party,” he said.

“Today the mood of the people in Goa, the sentiments of the people is that even they are forcing me to throw this government by hook or crook. We could feel the emotional sentiments of the people of Goa,” the Congress leader said.

Responding to a question, Chellakumar said that there is no leadership issue in Congress party in Goa. “We will declare name of the leader when time comes. There is no leadership issue at all in the party,” he added.
