Porvorim Police have arrested one person for snatching mobile phone of a foreigner at Pilerne.
Mr. Novikov Sarge, native of Israel had lodged his complaint that on 18/04/2023 while he was travelling from Pilerne to Betim one person on a Dio scooter had snatched away Samsung Galaxy phone from his wife’s hand which was worth Rs. 1,20,000/-.
Based on the complaint police resgistred FIR under section 356,379 IPC and conducted investigation.
Through technical surveillance and reliable information police today arrested one accused person namely Mr. Taufik Shaikh, age 19 yrs R/o Paithona, Bardez Goa.
The stolen mobile has also been recovered from the accused person.
The investigation team was supervised by SDPO Porvorim Vidhwesh Karpe and consisted of PI Anant Gaonkar, PSI Sitaram Malik, PSI Pratik Bhatprabhu, constables Nitesh Gaude, Siddesh Naik and Yogesh Shinde.
Further investigation is in progress.
