Porvorim police have arrested one accused person for gold chain snatching.
As per PI Ràhūl Parab of Porvorim Police Station a complaint was lodged by Mrs. Sudha Vengurlekar, age 65 yrs R/o Verem, Bardez Goa informing that early morning on 20/09/2021 at 08:30 am while she was walking one unknown male person came walking and snatched her gold chain from her neck worth Rs.50,000/- and further accused person fled on his scooter.
Upon receipt of complaint an FIR under sections 356, 379 IPC was registered and investigation was taken up.
During the investigation Porvourim police analysed as many as 50 CCTV footage’s of houses and establishments and further identified the suspect as Mr. Sagar Mahadev Gaude, age 31 yrs R/o Curca, Tiswadi- Goa. Accordingly the accused person was traced at Verem at his relatives place and during the arrest, the stolen property i.e gold chain and the scooter bearing reg no : GA 07 AE 9704 have been recovered from the accused person.
Accused person is presently in police custody.
The investigation team consisted of PI Rahul Parab, PSI Sitaram Malik, constables Nitesh Gawde, Anand Kandurgi, Yogesh Shinde, Mahadev Naik and Utkarsh Dessai.
