Old Goa Police acted against illegal sand transportation going on in the jurisdiction.
As per PI Jivba Dalvi information was received that illegal transportation of sand was going on in the area of Old Goa. Accordingly 03 raid were conducted in the early morning hours on 30/03/2019 at Gandaulim bridge, Carambolim and Neura junction respectively during which a total of sand worth Rs. 30,000/- from three trucks bearing nos 1. GA 03 N 0341, 2. GA 01 T 8729, and 3. GA 09 U 3180 respectively.
All the 03 trucks have been seized by the police along with the sand and a report is being submitted to the Hon’ble JMFC Panaji under sections 38 R/w 62(2) of Goa Minor Minerals Concessions rule.
PI Dalvi informs that he has also informed the Dept of Mines & Geology regarding the seizure and the drive to act against the illegal sand transporters will be continued.
