No immediate lockdown, curfew in Goa: CM

Panaji: Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Monday said that the state is monitoring the situation in neighbouring states before taking the call on COVID-19 restrictions.

Sawant told reporters that there is no immediate plans to impose lockdown or curfews in Goa though the awareness about the covid protocols are taken up on large scale.

“We are monitoring the situation in neighbouring Maharashtra and Karnataka where the COVID-19       cases are rising alarmingly,” the chief minister said.

He said that there are no immediate plans to impose lockdown or night curfew in Goa.

Sawant said that the state has increased the number of testing while appealing people to adopt covid appropriate behaviour.

Goa has reported 59,068 cases of which 2,077 are active.
