Panaji: Goa’s Cooperation Minister Subhash Shirodkar has said that the milk that is procured by the state from outside is ‘not always pure and worth consuming.”

Shirodkar was talking to mediapersons in South Goa on Saturday during which he said that the state government will investigate into the quality of milk that is procured and distributed in the state from outside.

Goa is dependent on supplies from Maharashtra and Karnataka for its requirement of milk.

“Milk which comes to Goa from other states is not always pure and worth consuming. There is also abuse of rate. I am considering investigating the matter,” he said.

Shirodkar said that there should be control on the pricings and also on the quality of milk which is sold in Goa that is brought from the outside. He said that the state government will soon put in place the mechanism to keep a tab on both the aspects – quality and pricing.
