Mapusa: Mapusa police led by Police Inspector Vijaykumar Chodankar arrested murder accused in a swift action within one hour of committing the crime.
Chodankar led the investigation which resulted in the arrest of accused within one hour of the murder. The case was initially looking blind as there was no clue about the accused.
Police were informed about the assault in the afternoon after which the team led by PSI Kiran Naik reached the spot to find one Rahul Bengali dead. Upon initial investigation, it was revealed that he was killed by one Pitambar Malik, who was absconding.
Police began extensive search of the place and rounded up several people. The accused was detained while he was hiding near Bodgeshwar Temple and arrested under charges of murder.
