Man enters unchecked in Goa, tests positive at GMC, authorities informed

Panaji: A 46-year-old person from Sangli in Maharashtra has tested positive for COVID-19 infection at Goa Medical College and Hospital, where he was admitted for having fever.

A senior official from Directorate of Health services said that 46-year-old man who was tested positive had entered the state without getting checked at the border check post.

All those who are entering the state have been tested at the border, and kept in quarantine till their COVID-19 infection reports are out.

Officials said that the person had come accompanied by two others in a car to supply goods to Kamat Enterprise firm in Panaji.

“As he had fever, he was tested at GMC where he was found positive for COVID-19 infection. He told the health authorities that they managed to enter the state without getting tested at the border,” an official said.

The Health department has informed District Collector about their unchecked entry.
