Shiroda: Former Minister Mahadev Naik who recently joined Congress was seen campaigning with almost all the aspirants for the ticket in Shiroda by-poll.
GPCC President Girish Chodankar was seen campaigning with Naik in Shiroda, while all the local Congress leaders were seen rallying behind them.
The aspirants like Sunil Sawakar, Hemant Samant, Diya Shetkar, Manorai Naik, Mhalu Naik, Nilesh Gaonkar along with Mahadev Naik were seen campaigning in Shiroda.
Congress party has been trying to make inroads in the constituency after their leader Subhash Shirodkar switched over the side to BJP.
Chodankar had held several meetings in the constituency but could not bring enthusiasm. Entry of Mahadev Naik is looked as a positive sign for the party which is looking at the leader who can take Shirodkar head on in the constituency.
