Panaji: The Good News is that it rained last night in Goa providing much needed relief from the heat. And Bad News is that several thousand people had sleepless night due to disruption of electricity.

Providing much needed relief from the heat, it rained across Goa during mid night. The rains were accompanied by thunder and storm resulting in several trees getting uprooted. The trees fell on the electricity lines thus cutting off the current.

Thousands of people were seen having sleepless night and in some places people were seen standing on the road.

In and around Panaji, the current went off from 2.30 a.m. and electricity continued getting disrupted till morning. Sources in electricity department revealed that the attempts were made to restore the current, but the trees had fallen at many places.
