The Imagine Panaji Smart City Development Limited (IPSCDL) has failed to comply with the directives issued by the North Goa Additional Collector Vikas Gaunekar to clear within 10 days all the material that they have dumped on the Ribandar football ground.

The directions were issued after North Goa Collector Mrs. R.Menaka inspected the ground on 2nd October following a complaint filed by Adv. Aires Rodrigues that Ribandar football ground had been converted into a dumping yard for the IPSCDL.

Pointing out that Ribandar has only one playground where the youth have been playing football and cricket from time immemorial, Adv. Rodrigues in his complaint had drawn the attention of the Collector that the IPSCDL had also erected a huge shed to house its workers who are bathing in the open while another shed is being constructed to house more workers.

While submitting to the Collector photographs of the site, Adv. Rodrigues in his complaint had stated that these acts by IPSCDL were absolutely illegal, unauthorized and a clear high-handed trespass into Ribandar’s football ground.

Stating that this was a very grave injustice to Ribandar’s youth for whom this is the only available ground for sports and recreation, Adv. Rodrigues urged the Collector to direct the IPSCDL to immediately remove all their stuff which has been dumped and also the structures erected on the football ground besides taking action against IPSCDL for acting in violation of law.
