Panaji: Goa Bench of Bombay High Court on Thursday will pronounce its judgment on the disqualification petitions against twelve of Goa MLAs on Thursday.
Goa Pradesh Congress Committee President Girish Chodankar has filed disqualification petition against ten of his party MLAs, who had shifted to BJP in the year 2019.
Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party MLA Sudin Dhavalikar had also filed a similar petition before the Bench against two of its MLAs who had joined BJP in the same year by splitting the party.
Advocate Abhijit Desai, lawyer representing Chodankar, said that the judgment on both the petitions would be pronounced by Division Bench comprising of Justice Manish Pitale and Justice R N Laddha on Thursday at 10.30 am.
On April 20, 2021, Speaker of Goa Legislative Assembly Rajesh Patnekar had dismissed the disqualification petitions filed by Chodankar and Dhavalikar.
