Panaji: Apparently upset with Superintendent of Police Chandan Chaudhury over inaction on drug trade, Tourism Minister Manohar Ajgaonkar said that he had given information about the trade to the SP, but she didn’t act.

Ajgaonkar said that State Police were not serious towards curbing the drug menace in Goa.

“There should be no compromise on drugs. I have been speaking against it since I have become an MLA but no action is taken. I had even informed the Superitendent of Police,” he said.

The minister said that he had given detailed information to the SP about the drug activity but there was nothing done.

“There is a godfather for drug activities in Goa but we don’t know who is he,” Ajgaonkar said adding that “even a small person, carrying out tiny business needs a blessing, and drugs is a massive trade.”
