Panaji: Goa Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte on Wednesday said that the coastal state will sign Memorandum of understandings with various counterparts to promote spiritual tourism in the state.
Talking to reporters in Panaji, Khaunte said that the destinations like Amritsar and Guwahati have been opened up with the starting of Manohar International Airport at Mopa.
He said that the flights are also starting from Dehradun (Uttarakhand) which will open the opportunities for spiritual tourism in the state. Khaunte said that the state government wants to promote the temples in Goa amongst the tourists.
The tourism minister said that the promotion of the state in the domestic tourists is a part of PM’s Dekho Apna Desh initiative.
Responding to a question, Khaunte said that the state also expects the tourist footfalls in monsoon due to the promotion in the countries like the UAE. “Goa is a 24 by 7, 365 days holiday destination, there is nothing called as end of tourist season in the state,” the minister said.
