Saligao, 24th May 2024: The Department of Tourism, Govt.of Goa, organized the Goa Heritage Festival 2024, a three-day extravaganza dedicated to celebrating the state’s rich culture and heritage. The Festival was inaugurated at the Saligao Football Ground by Honorable Tourism Minister Shri. Rohan A. Khaunte, alongside Saligao MLA Shri. Kedar Naik, Mayem MLA Shri. Premendra Shet, Siolim MLA Mrs. Delilah Lobo, Aldona MLA Shri. Carlos Ferreira, Director of Tourism Shri. Suneel Anchipaka, IAS, and local Panchayat representatives.
A large crowd of attendees witnessed the festival’s opening day, and were greeted with dynamic performances by the acclaimed bands Sky High and Pure Magic. The vibrant set by Carlos and Friends – Talking Drums enthralled audiences and perfectly launched the festivities. Additionally, a traditional fashion show highlighted the exquisite craftsmanship and timeless elegance of Goan attire, offering a visual feast for fashion enthusiasts. The renowned Kanta Gaude Group presented captivating traditional dances, embodying the rhythmic soul of Goan culture.
The festival showcases the vibrant culture of Goa with around 50 stalls offering traditional food and craftsmanship.
