Fourth Accused in Tiger Deaths case arrested

Valpoi: Forest Department on Friday arrested fourth accused in connection with the tiger deaths reported in Mahadayi Wildlife Sanctuary, this week.

Jyotiba Pawane was arrested by Forest department officials who are investigating the deaths of four tigers in Mahadayi Wildlife Sanctuary.

The Tiger carcasses were found on Sunday, Tuesday and Wednesday at Golavali village in the sanctuary.

“Based on the interrogation of three accused who are arrested, the fourth accused identified as Jyotiba Pawane has been put up under arrest on Friday,” a senior forest department official said.

The department officials on Wednesday had arrested three accused Vitho Zipo Pawne, Nalo Nago Pawne and his younger brother Bombo Nago Pawne in connection with the case.

Union ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change on Wednesday had constituted two-member committee to probe into the series of tiger deaths.
