Panaji : independent MLA Rohan Khaunte has claimed that 55 crore budget alotted to renovate Kala Academy is nothing but a corruption ploy.
In a tweet he said:
“Charles Correa Foundation says only 10 crores required for #KalaAcademy renovations while #GoaGovt budgets 55 crores ! Why’s it that everything this Govt touches reek of #Corruption?”
Earlier Minister for arts and culture Govind Gaude had clarified that “The building is located on the bank of River Mandovi and it requires special care.While renovating the Kala Academy the acoustics and flooring will most likely be damaged hence we need to repair these too”. He also added saying auditorium gets flooded which needs repairs hence the cost.
