Dhado farmers in distress as farms get flooded

Panaji: Farmers of Dhado Khazan Tenants Association Carambolim met the assistant director of Agriculture at Miramar. More than one thousand farmers of Dhado are facing problems as their farms are flooded with water and the farmers are having trouble cultivating their farm areas. Speaking about the pligh to of the farmers, Caitan D’Mello, one of the farmers said, “We had approached Chief Minister, Revenue Department and now we have come to the Directorate of Agriculture to find a solution. Due to pandemic we have incurred many losses now our only source of income is farms.”
Assistant Director of Agriculture has informed the farmers that they would inspect the farms to find out why the farms are flooded in the month of December. “Mamlatdar has not helped us in any way to resolve the flooding issue we now wait for this department to resolve our issues,” said D’Mello.
