Panaji: In a major decision, Union Health Ministry has ordered the State governments to stop fresh registration of Frontline workers and Healthcare workers for COVID-19 vaccination after instances of fake name surfaced.
Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan, in a communication to the state governments, has ordered to cease the fresh registration of Healthcare workers and Front line workers.
“Various inputs have been received from different sources that in some of the CVCs, some ineligible beneficiaries are being registered as HCWs and FLWs and are getting vaccinated in complete violtion of the prescribed guidelines.”
“There has been 24 per cent increase in the HCW database in the past few days. This issue was discussed with the state representatives and domain knowledge experts in the NEGVAC meeting today and as per the recommedation it has been decided that no fresh registrations in categories of HCWs and FLWs will be allowed with immediate effect.”
