Panaji: A committee under Minister for Women and Child development Vishwajit Rane is been constituted to undertake necessary amendment to the Goa State Commission for Woman Act, 1996.
The 12-member committee comprises of some senior legal experts including retired High Court judge AP Lavande, Senior civil judge Vijaylaxmi Shivolkar, Senior Adv Saresh Lotlikar, former retired law secretary Adv Pramod Kamat.
The committee has to make necessary recommendations for undertaking the amendment to the Goa State Commission for Woman Act.
“The Committee shall have mandate to re-visit and examine the provisions of the said Act and make recommendations to the Government for amendment to the said Act,” Director of Women and Child department Deepali Naik said in the order.
