Panaji: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Thursday said that he would conduct an inquiry after a woman who arrived from Mumbai in the state without under COVID-19 screening has tested positive.
An elderly woman, who was living at Calangute in North Goa, had tested positive for COVID-19 infection after she complained of breathlessness.
Talking to reporters on Thursday evening, Sawant admitted that the woman had “skipped the COVID-19 test.”
Goa has made it mandatory for everyone entering the State to undergo COVID-19 test as their swab samples are collected at the borders, railway stations and the airport.
“It is true that she came without any test. She has been admitted in the hospital after she was found positive,” Sawant said.
“I would inquire into how the woman skipped the test. It is very difficult to know how she skipped. Around 3,000 person enter the state every day, so it is difficult to know how she skipped the test,” he said.
