Panaji: Month after Central government banned E-cigarettes in the country, Calangute police on Wednesday arrested a Kumta native for selling various kinds of e-cigarettes illegally.
Calangute Police Inspector Nolasco Raposo said that in the first offence registered in the State post ban, police arrested Shafeequal Rahman for illegally selling e-cigarette products.
Police conducted search of the store bear Baga circle and seized 166 E-cigarettes, electronic hookah, chargers, batteries and other accessories, all worth Rs 2.50 lakhs, Raposo said.
Rahman was later released on furnishing surety amount of Rs 10,000.
