Margao: Bharatiaya Janata Party in Margao has demanded that police should identify all the crime hubs in the city including Moti Dongor, Azadnagari, Fakir Bandh and others, to avoid recurrence of the murder cases.
BJP leaders Rupesh Mahatme, Sharmad Raiturcar and others addressed a press conference in Margao.
Raiturcar recalled that during the year 2010, Margao was reeling under fear when politicians were giving protection to the goons on Moti Dongor. He said that there was a time when gang wars were reported on the street of Margao.
The BJP leader said that these criminals were close to a particular politician. Raiturcar said that in the year 2012 when Manohar Parrikar became Chief Minister, the crime in Margao was brought under total control.
He demanded that Police should identify the crime hubs in the city and eliminate them. Raiturcar said that the locals should also cooperate with police and inform about any suspicious activity in their area. “Cleansing of Margao city is requirement of the day,” he said.
