Banks and Govt together can create the desired impact: CM

Panaji: Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant chaired the114th meeting of the State Level Bankers Committee of Goa at Taj Vivanta today.

 

In His key address, Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant stressed that bankers and the Government together can create the desired impact by working hand in hand for the betterment of the people. The Chief Minister appreciating the bankers for their annual achievements said that on the line of Atmanirbhar Bharat Package we have started the Swayampurna Goa program. Senior level officers, every Saturday, visit the gram Panchayat to create awareness on Government schemes and avail of the same to needy persons. Swayampurna Mitra can be the linked officer between the Government Department, Banks and Beneficiaries, he remarked.

The Chief Minister urged each branch to connect with the local Swayampurna Mitra so that together they can give more benefits to the People of Goa. Goa Government has set a target to achieve the 100% coverage of the entire 10 points programme before December 19 which will help to reach out to the last person of the State. Tap water connection and Electricity we have already been achieved, he said. The Goa Government is starting the programme “Sarkar Aaplya Daari” from this month, he added.

 

The Chief Minister further said under the Atmanirbhar Bharat Swayampurna Goa Mission we are doing various programmes. We have also taken the sustainable development Goals. We have improved from number 7 to number 4. We have also taken up various activities in the Education sector. Due focus has been laid on skill and technical development and Banks can also be a partner in this so we together can make it more effective, he pointed.

 

The Chief Minister directed all the banks to cooperate with people and start doing awareness about the Schemes Sponsored by the State and Central Government. He also appreciated the Banks for working tirelessly during the Covid Pandemic and also appreciated the NABARD for their improvements.

 

Shri Parimal Rai, IAS; Chief Secretary; Shri Puneet Kumar Goel, IAS, Principal Secretary (Finance), Ms. Sukhvinder Kaur, General Manager; Ms. Usha Ramesh, General Manager; Shri N.J Nampoothiri, General Manager were among those who were present on the occasion.
