Panaji : Goa is finally seeing a silver lining in the sky, as it ranks first in the country when it comes to vaccinating its citizens against the Covid19 virus.
CM Dr Pramod P Sawant has thanked Healthcare workers. He said “I thank the Doctors, Nurses, healthcare workers and the people of Goa for making #TikaUtsav 3.0 successful, thereby taking Goa to the top on the vaccination chart.
The state has around 11 lakh population who are above 18 years of age. Till date as many as 101898 members of the population have been fully vaccinated, these are the people who have received both the jabs for Covid. where as 556778 have been administered single dose.
The Tika Utsav programmes launched across the state has helped considerably in vaccinating citizens.
CM had asserted that vaccination is the only way to defeat Corona “We have a target of 100 per cent coverage of the first vaccination dose by July 30,” He had said.
Goa’s tourism could finally resume with tika utsav proving a success as even Manohar Ajgaonkar Goa’s tourism minister said that tourism would resume once everyone was vaccinated in the coastal belt.
