Margao: The Crime Branch has arrested Sunita Rodrigues ex wife of Myron Accused the main accused in the multi-crore investment scam that has cheated a huge number of investors.
The arrest was made after a thorough investigation revealed that Sunita Rodrigues was actively involved in the fraudulent activities and had played a crucial role in the scam. Despite being summoned for questioning, Accused Sunita Rodrigues had been evasive and non-cooperative, prompting the police to take action.
The investigation has revealed that the main accused and his wife had cheated investors by promising them high returns on their investments. The accused had collected crores of rupees from innocent investors, which they had then misappropriated for their personal gain.
Sunita Rodrigues has been arrested under relevant sections 406,420 r/w 34 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and sec 3 & 5 of GPID Act.
She will be produced before the Magistrate tomorrow for remand.
