Margao: The Electricity Department has ruled out their fault in the death of Aniket Naik from Rumdamol, Davorlim, who had reportedly died due to electrocution on Thursday.
Superintendent Engineer Rajiv Samant told reporters in Margao that there was no supply by the electricity department, where the incident happened.
He said that there is no high-tension wire while the low-tension wire, which is around the place, has been situated at a distance from where the accident happened.
Aniket was a part of the youngsters who were decorating the place on the occasion of the annual festival of Shree Datta Mandir.
Samant said that the officers of the Electricity department including himself, the Executive Engineer, and the Junior Engineer conducted a site inspection on Friday.
He said that they had found that the small-size temple located nearby has two fans and tube lights. Samant said that there was no clarity as to from where the line has been pulled.
The officer said that they had found one exposed wire in the temple.
Samant urged people not to try risky methods to source electricity, while give proper application to the Electricity Department to source the power.
