Adv. Aires Rodrigues has today rubbished former Tourism Minister Dilip Parulekar’s contention that the Serula Comunidade land grab and cheating case against him was politically motivated.
Stating that the criminal case against Dilip Parulekar was well documented and based on concrete evidence, Adv. Rodrigues has alleged that the former Minister misused his position to grab 599 sq. mts of prime Comunidade land for a mere Rs. 3,41,320/- though that land was otherwise worth more than a crore.
Adv. Rodrigues has further alleged that Dilip Parulekar committed the fraud in connivance and collusion with Peter Martins the then attorney of Comunidade of Serula and Irene Sequeira the then Administrator of Comunidade of Bardez whom he had posted as Officer on Special Duty (OSD) while he was Minister.
Pointing out that the Crime Branch which was probing the case did everything possible to shield Dilip Parulekar while he was Minister, Adv. Rodrigues has stated that the game plan of the Crime branch was exposed through various orders passed by the Special Court under the Prevention of Corruption Act which was monitoring the investigation.
Recalling that over the last four years the case against Dilip Parulekar had travelled through various Courts including the High Court and even the Supreme Court, Adv. Rodrigues has stated that all the Courts had held that the 599 sq mts grabbed by Dilip Parulekar was by illegal means and not in accordance with law.
Adv. Rodrigues has expressed confidence that Dilip Parulekar’s trial now for offences under sections 119, 120, 420 read with 120-B of the Indian Penal Code before the Mapusa Court will unravel the entire truth how Dilip Parulekar had grabbed the land and cheated the Serula Comunidade.
