Panaji: Heavy to very heavy spells of rains disrupted the normal life with water logging, traffic jams, uprooting of trees being reported across the State.
After quite a low rainfall for more than a month, the south-west monsoon, since last night, became active over Goa coast. State is witnessing heavy to very heavy spells of showers accompanied with gusty winds.
The capital city reported flooding and traffic jams across all its major and interior roads. The potholes worsened the situation with traffic moving at snail pace.
The total seasonal rainfall for the State is around 86 inches, with 15 per cent deficit. By now, the average rainfall for Goa crosses 100 inch mark.
