MGP has given unconditional support to BJP: Pramod Sawant

Panaji: After gaining the majority, the Bharatiya Janata Party  (BJP) will be discussing about the leadership issue in the state during their meeting on Friday, chief minister Pramod Sawant said.

Sawant said that the decision on leadership has not been taken up yet and it would be discussed on Friday in the meeting of legislative party in presence of a Central Observer.

The BJP won on 20 seats in the results that were announced on Thursday. Senior party leaders including Goa election incharge Devendra Fadanavis, Sawant, Goa BJP President Sadanand Tanavade addressed all the winning candidates of the party in a starred resort near here.

Sawant said that the BJP will provide stable government for next five years with the help of all those who have come forward with the support.

He said that MGP has given their unconditional support to the BJP while decision on whether to include them in the cabinet or not, would be taken later.

“All the decisions surrounding staking claim to form the next government would be taken once BJP legislature party meets in presence of the Central Observer who would be arriving tomorrow,” the chief minister said.
