Panaji: Officials of Konkan Railway Corporation Limited (KRCL) have appreciated an efforts of network and construction team of Reliance Jio at Goa, for swiftly providing a much needed internet connectivity inside a damaged Pernem railway tunnel.
The internet connectivity provided inside the damaged Pernem Tunnel was most crucial for experts to study and understand behavior of the soil that led to the landslide.
Proving 4G seamless connectivity to essential systems like Laptop, PC, Mobile and Cameras installed inside the tunnel was essential for gathering of data analyses. The restoration operation of tunnel could commence only after findings of data analyses.
“The entire Jio team at Goa had facilitated installation of crucial communication system inside tunnel in record time of 24 hours on request from KRCL,” appreciated Dy. CSTE/OL of KRCL Mr Ganesh K.
Mr Ganesh had special mention of Goa-Maharashtra Chief Technology Officer Mr Sunil Ghosavi and Goa Dy. CTO Mr Shyam Naik.
KRCL route were diverted since August 6, after the landslide that occurred 300 metres inside the Pernem tunnel due to heavy rains. Nearly after 40 days train traffic had commenced on this route on Sept 16, 2020.
