Panaji: Goa University today decided to roll back hefty hike in exams and evaluation fees, hours after Goa Youth Forward (GYF) took up the matter and demanded immediate withdrawal.

The Goa university academic council that met on Friday decided to revise the fee structure and have a minimal increase of only five percent, from the existing 30 percent to 60 percent.

The University Registrar Y V Reddy informed GYF  about the decision.

In the morning, speaking to reporters, GYF President Raj Malik has demanded immediate roll back of hike in exams and evaluation fees, which was done in the middle of academic year.

“This is complete injustice done to the students. If the issue is not resolved, we will approach Goa Governor, who is the Chancellor of University for his intervention. We stand firmly with the students in their fight against injustice,” Malik said.
