Panaji: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant today said that government is committed to make Goa Open Defecation free (ODF) by August 31, this year.
Speaking to reporters after chairing the first cabinet meeting, Sawant said that the application forms for supply and installation of bio-digester toilets for the use of households are available in the respective panchayats and municipalities till June 30.
He said that the cabinet has revised the rates of bio-digester toilets wherein, general category applicant would be charged Rs 4500 per toilet as against earlier rate of Rs 10,000.
The OBC applicant will have to pay Rs 2500 while for ST and SC the charges are Rs 1000, Chief Minister said.
“Our target is to achieve ODF mission by August 31,” Sawant stated.
