COVID19: Highest number of cases reported on Thursday, 95 test positive

Panaji: Goa on Thursday reported the highest spike in the number of COVID-19 cases in the state with 95 people testing positive on a single day.

State health department in a bulletin issued here has said that 95 positive cases were traced in the State while 64 had recovered.

The cases were traced across the state including state’s biggest slum area of Zuarinagar near Vasco city in South Goa.

As per the bulletin, Zuarinagar reported 80 cases of COVID-19 infection till date making it as the second  largest hot spot after Mangor Hill which has reported 240 cases.

Both the areas have been declared as Containment Zone by the State government.

The areas in Vasco town including Sada, Baina, New Vaddem, Kharewada continued registering positive cases.

Out of 3413 samples tested on Thursday, 1951 were negative while reports of 1367 is still awaited.
