ALDONA: Aldona MLA Adv. Carlos Alvares Ferreira said that the arrangements for the just-concluded 45-day Exposition of the sacred relics of Saint Francis Xavier were par excellence and commended the entire team for their efforts.
Ferreira said that all aspects were well planned.
“I was present for the opening and closing ceremonies, and I also attended the Shillong Chamber Choir concert. Everything was planned well. There were special arrangements for senior citizens, like wheelchairs and at the facilitation centre. Everything went very smoothly. Even the arrangements for security and parking were good. The entire setup and planning were also good, given the movement of people and the placement of stalls for local businesses,” he said.
He also gave credit to the organising committee and volunteers for their efforts.
“I am glad, and politics aside, I want to say, fairly and honestly, that all arrangements were par excellence. I congratulate Alexio Sequeira, Minister for Environment and Deputy Chairman of the Exposition Secretariat Committee, Sandeep Jacques, Commissioner of the Exposition Committee, Convenor of the Exposition Committee, Fr. Henry Falcao, and the entire team, including the 1,000-strong volunteers who worked day and night, free of cost,” he said.
