Panaji: As the five-year term of the existing Zilla panchayat nearing end, State government is likely to propose holding the polls in mid-March 2020.
Panchayat Minister Mauvin Godinho said that Government will propose to State Election Commission (SEC) to hold ZP polls by mid-March 2020.
He also said that government will hold talks with stakeholders including political parties to decide whether the contest the elections on party lines.
In 2015 the elections were held on party lines.
