Panaji: State Health Minister Vishwajit Rane late on Monday evening met Chief Minister Pramod Sawant at the backdrop of rising number of COVID-19 positive cases reported in the State.
Rane met the CM after chairing a high-level meeting of Health officials on the issue. The meeting had expressed concerns that the bed capacity of the state to admit COVID-19 patients was getting exhausted.
“I met the Chief Minister and briefed him about the ground level situation. I will be meeting him (CM) again today to decide future strategy to counter the pandemic,” the Health Minister said.
He said that the issue about certain restrictions would be taken up before the Chief minister during the meeting.
On Monday, Sawant had ruled out imposing lockdown or night curfew in the state, while claiming that the government is monitoring the situation in neighbouring states of Maharashtra and Karnataka.
