Panaji: United Goans Foundation members under the leadership of Dr Aashish Kamat joined the Congress at the request of Rahul Gandhi in the presence of Goa Pradesh Congress Committee president Girish Chodankar and South Goa president Joe Dias at a function in the capital city on Sunday.

“We have joined the Congress at the request of Rahul Gandhi and will strive to strengthen the ranks in the state unit. We believe a strong party can give a strong leadership and we believe that Cong is the only option for a pluralistic India.,” Dr Aashish said.

“The threat levels to activists in the state are at an all-time high. We have a responsibility to our state and will continue to fight for our rights. We must admit that we have changed our lifestyle to a certain extent. That being said, we will not take these anti-social elements lying down,” Dr Aashish added.
Our endeavor to save Goa for future generations will always remain true and people should judge us by our actions… And support us in our endeavor.

Other members who joined the Congress include Domnic Noronha, CA Anup Borkar and Charles D’silva.

  1. Goans voted Congress and gave 17 MLAs to Congress and in return Congress gave 13 MLAs to BJP. Today’s BJP Government has more Congress MLAs than BJP MLAs. It is undeclared alliance before election to give winning Congress MLAs to BJP. AAP is here to change the tradition Politics of Congress & BJP who divides Goans in the name of Language, Religion, Caste, etc.
