Panaji: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Monday shared site pictures of the Tillari Irrigation Canal and wrote that the work of cleaning and desilting of the Canal is going on smoothly.
The chief minister further informed that the project is being executed by engaging local workforce under scheme of Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA), which has resulted in employment for Goans as well as a saving of ₹ 1.43 Crore to the state exchequer #VocalForLocal.
The cleaning and desilting work of the 120 km stretch of the Tillari Canal at Bicholim, Pernem and Brdez was inaugurated on october 20.
