Panaji:The Department of Information Technology, Electronics, and Communication, Government of Goa, organized a felicitation program in honor of International Women’s Day on 8th March 2024, held at ESG, Panaji. The event was graced by the presence of the honorable Minister for Tourism, Information Technology, Electronics and Communications, Printing and Stationery, Shri. Rohan A. Khaunte, Director of ITE&C Ms. Yashaswini B., IAS, and CEO at the Startup & IT Promotion Cell, D. S. Prashant.
In recognition of the dedicated efforts and remarkable talent of women entrepreneurs, the program included felicitations for several women-led startups. Among those honored were Ms. Sunaya Shirodkar, from ASIER Solutions, Ms. Supriya Mallad of i-Assist, Ms. Sapna Sahani of Blurb Consultancy, Ms. Rafinabi Shaikh of Goenkart Digital World and Ms. Maria Victor of Make it Happen.
*Acknowledging the significant contributions of women entrepreneurs to Goa’s startup ecosystem, Minister Rohan A. Khaunte remarked*, “Goa is witnessing a surge in women-led startups, showcasing the immense potential and talent of women in entrepreneurship. Remarkably, 33% of these startups are founded by women entrepreneurs, emphasizing the growing prominence of women in Goa’s startup landscape. Initiatives like ‘Nari Shakti,’ envisioned by our Honorable Prime Minister Shri. Narendra Modi ji empowers women to unleash their potential and drive change and innovation.”
*Ms. Yashaswini B., IAS, Director of the ITE&C department, added,* “Women have played a pivotal role in fostering innovation and growth within the startup ecosystem. With 225 registered startups, 76 of which have women founders or co-founders, women have made significant strides in the tech industry and the startup ecosystem.”
The felicitation program on International Women’s Day highlighted the vital role of women entrepreneurs in driving innovation, growth, and empowerment within Goa’s startup community.
