Schools need to reopen in hybrid mode : Experts Committee

Panaji : Dr Shekhar Salkar  in a press briefing said schools could be reopened in hybrid mode. “we had a meeting with expert committee at GMC Dean’s office, there was a unanimous decision to start school classes of standard 9th to 12th”
We want schools to start in hybrid mode, “Those parents who have good network and smartphone can opt for online education for their child while others can send their children to schools to attend classes in physical mode.”
 Salkar also said that since all the classes other than 9th to 12th std are closed the space could be utilized to accommodate students
“As of now the positivity rate is below 2.5% and Covid-19 cases are under control. if the positivity rate increases to 2,500 or 5% then we can shut down the schools,” said Salkar.
Meanwhile Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has said that task force will take final decision on reopening of schools. “Expert committee’s decision will be sent to task force committee who will take the final call,” said Sawant.
